Open Office

OK so I may be a computer science student but sometimes I forget the little technical things. Like there must be some ruddy button in open office that says "Export this in a usable format" but I didn't think it would be a problem so I cheerily sent my .odt file from my linux workstation in the office to my windows (and therefore Microsoft Office) laptop and it won't open. Not in anything, not by word, wordpad, notepad, Firefox - nothing. And I was doing so well with it today - I loathe open office and I have ever since I was oh... eleven or so. And I had to write a presentation a few weeks ago and had so many issues it was untrue but today I was rewriting and editing this presentation and I was getting on just fine with it, I was in shock I'll admit. And I also wrote up an article that I'd written on paper - potentially for the company website and had no issues with that either so I thought I'd send it home and post it on my soon-to-be-created compsci blog. But no, Open Office obviously decided that it had played nicely for far too long *sigh* so now I'm going to cheat and pilfer it off our confluence page and post it now instead - aren't I sneaky?
